Call it stupidity or whatever, I ordered two items online the other day out of boredom mostly though the items seemed good. I received a order confirmation that evening, pending a credit check.

Next day I recieve a call from customer service, they stated they wanted some information about me before placing my order. I was asked about length at employment, credit references - i provided this info - they said they would call back to let me know. I laughingly told them check all you want I have good credit. So, couple days go by, no word on order - so I login on their site to check order - it says "order pending down payment".

!? I was confused and called Stoneberry to ask why with my credit. They said I needed to pay 25% down on each item, I could by check over the phone or wait for the letter they sent. However I couldn't pay by credit/debit card bc they don't accept those for down payments.

I told them to cancel my order and asked why they bothered to call me in the first place since they require down payments for new customers.

I don't give my bank info to just any company. Moral of the story for me don't order anything from these idiots.

Know your credit limit before ordering. Stoneberry's deposit policy is clear on ordering above your credit limit. Usually, they'll offer a minimum of $100 credit limit, so if you're a new customer, keep it under that.
